Overview

As a Materials Handler at Celldex Therapeutics, you’ll perform a variety of important processes to support Manufacturing and Clinical Operations. This is an open-ended temporary employment position which will last at minimum 6 months.

 

You’ll work with our team to organize, examine, receive, and distribute mostly general and some GMP materials used for manufacturing production and clinical supply. This process and most of this work will be completed through our Great Plains Inventory software.

 

Our Materials Handling department coordinates and manages all shipments from the Fall River facility (both domestic and international), and creates and revises procedures to comply with cGMP guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Check in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and non-GMP items. Receive and issue Manufacturing, Quality Control (QC), Analytical Development (AD), and Facilities (FA) materials through computer and manual system. Examine stock and distribute materials in inventory. Quarantine and Release GMP materials following established procedures.
  • Distribute incoming deliveries to other departments and arrange delivery pickups. Operate manual jack for pallet deliveries.
  • Organize shipments and compile necessary paperwork to ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) and other relevant regulations. Assist with Clinical labeling and packaging operations.
  • Revise departmental SOPs and file Materials Handling department documents.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Good general computer user skills and the ability to learn how to use computerized inventory software, such as Great Plains.
  • Lift and handle various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment, in some enclosed areas, and a 2 to 8 degree Celsius cold room.

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

 

Desired Experience:

  • Previous work experience in biotech or pharmaceutical materials handling, and shipping and receiving departments.
  • DOT/IATA training.
